I had a math teacher that did this last year. It was terrible, if you didn't understand she just repeated the exact words of the presentation. I heard you just fine the first time, thanks.
What if I told you that a powerpoint should consist mainly of visual aids like pictures, charts, graphs, etc with maybe a few keywords/definitions. The presenter should be familiar enough with the material to explain the subject matter thoroughly and answer questions. That goes for students who present their projects, too.
It is and it isn't, if the teacher is explaining things along with the PowerPoint then the PowerPoint becomes a tool. Especially for history and psychology power points worked phenomenoly but for more interactive studies I.e. Math and English power points aren't all that worth using.
That's 100% of my teachers at my school. I haven't learned jack shit, but hey! I can summarize a slide damn well and write it down to memorize for the weekly quiz ;) That's all that matters
I had a history teacher who taught like that, but unlike most teachers, he actually understood what he was teaching. He's actually one of the best teachers I ever had.
Then afterwards, when it's over, explains everything to make sure we understand
