Agh that was me!! When I got into high school, I was like, "studying? What is this 'studying'"?

Try never having to study until your junior or senior year of college. By then the skill set needed for studying was so far removed from my abilities it was an extreme struggle.

My mom has been doing this to me forever and even now, as a senior. I'm going to need this for college next year

This is a result of giving awards for participation, lack of intellectual competition in the formative years, No Child Left Behind, coercion of teachers to simply pass students regardless of scholastic performance or behavioral issues, etc.

Before me and a friend were randomly picked to do some tests. I was above average when we got the results. That was also in grade 3 though. And now I'm lucky if I get on the honor roll

Nice, does it count if you were called smart but actually got into a top 20 high school in the country and are probably going to an ivy league?
