Be warned though even doctors have little to no training in nutrition and any diet or food plan they give you should be specifically tailored to you, if not then chances are the doctor didn't build it but just used a generic diet designed by someone who may or may not be qualified to make it. Always double check that any prescribed food plan was designed by someone with an actual nutritionist/dietitian degree and that the degree comes from a medically accepted college or university.
This is so important to know. Most people don't realize that the average GP has little to no nutritional training and, at best, is parroting generalized information from the American Heart Association.
I was floored when my 300 lb mother's knee replacement plans didn't include any weight loss or management at all! Don't look to doctors to care that much, or have the correct knowledge surrounding it.
Even IF that person is severely under or over weight KNOW THEM before you say anything. I spent 7years unable to put weight on because of a combo of heartburn, ibs, and a super sick gallbladder (wasn't aware of the last one). That person may LOATHE being thin and not be able to help it.
Right!? That makes me crazy.
People say this to my sister who is a lean muscular athlete and eats over 2000 calories a day. . I am curvy but eat almost half of what she does and I work out 2/3 times a week. We are both happy. We are both healthy. No need for shamming!
If bigger people are allowed to say we need to put on weight we should be allowed to say they need to lose some, but we cant because that would be fat shaming and thats wrong but skinny shaming is just fine
You can say it. Don't be mean, rude, condescending, make fun etc. But don't fall into this political correctness trap. It's intended to silence you. Speak mindfuy. But speak.
Just asking.
