We (Aussies) also call erasers rubbers which got really awkward when my friend went to the US and in the hotel lobby said "I need a rubber" much louder than intended
Kind of like sandals but with only a thin strap across the front of your foot and down in between your toes. Since they only stay on your foot on the front, the back makes a "flip flop" sound against your heel as you walk.
