What is even happening? Why is the dog biting the person? And why are they calmly taking a picture?

The dog isn't clamping down hard. Looks like a black lab, which are bred to carry things in their mouths without puncturing with their teeth. I'm not sure why this person is having his dog carry his arm, but I think it's kind of adorable, as labs and retrievers are the most loving dogs in my opinion.

If the dog was trying to harm him then the dog wouldn't be standing straight like that.

My gran had a black lab that did that, they don't bite hard, they do just kinda hold it. She used to say it was how he "held hands" with you.

They're demonstrating the level of trust and gentleness shared between man and his friend dog.

My dog does it too, she's a cairn terrier mix. She justwants to hold your hands for like a minute or two when I get home or when she just gets reallllly excited.

My pit lab mix loves to bite everything as he's only 9 months, but he especially loves to gently hold your fingers with his teeth. EDIT: he’s a year and a half now and still does this to calm down

My labs used to do this. We used to put an egg in one lab's mouth to see how gentle he could be, and it only broke when he put it down on the tile floor.

That's the same kind of dog we got to replace Gilbert.

Sorry..."replace gilbert" replace, really? I hope that's just a poor word choice not your actual attitude to owning a dog, they aren't accessories.
