Idk I think fanboys who aren't afraid to fanboy are adorable. However gaming is gaming no matter what mode you use so if you enjoy it don't care what other people bitch about. It's Like the manual versus electronic book debate, people have preferences but it doesn't really matter as long as you enjoy the content.
Yess, ive always thought it was more a matter of enjoyment. I have never tried gaming on a pc, Im doing well with my consoles so far. Maybe i'll try more in the future, but im happy as it is.
Having a preference doesn't make you a fanboy.
I, for example prefer playing Minecraft on console (either Xbox or ps3) to PC. That being said I would never want to play sims for console, and the mobile verions of both are awful. Preferences are fine to have.
Believeing that you are superior because you play a certain console/PC exculsively, makes you a jerk.
Some things are better for certain games, and its okay to have preferences, it is even okay if those prefernces are different.
There is no reason to hate because someone else games differently than you.
Gamers already have a bad enough reputation with non gamers. And the way we treat newbs is no help. The least we could do is get along amonst each other.
Well that's really proving op's point. You used your preferences for different games to decide which platform you were going to play them on. So in an effect to your statement you would be a "real gamer" because you would treat all platforms equally.
Thanks guys. A cookie is great.

Guest: I was trying to say that you can't just start the name calling over preference differences. Real gamer or no, it doesn't make sense to prefer all the systems equally. Different systems are better for different people in different circumstances. The original poster was saying to be a true gamer one had to have no preference. Which is just unrealistic.
Same for what level of difficulty you play on. People wanna make fun of those of us who play games on super weeny hut jrs mode but sometimes it's because we like the story aspect of the game better then the shooty shooty
True, or we are just really bad at the game and enjoy it more when we don't die every 30 sec.
<< is guilty of playing games oneasy for this very reason
Either way, it shouldn't matter what difficulty setting other people use. Developers make it varible to make it enjoyable to more people.
Truth be told, we have just about *almost* reached a level of parity where there's really only two differences in the platforms:
1) Platform specific exclusives that come in two forms. Initial release exclusives that will *eventually* be released on the others: case in point, GTA V. It was initially exclusive to console, to be later re-released on next gen and PC. The other is exclusives that will likely never be released on others. Mario and Halo for example. Those will likely *never* be released on other platforms. (Yes, Halo 1 & 2 did make their way to PC, but it ended there.)
2) The form factor of the controller.
Everything else is fanboyism. When you chose a platform, you are choosing a controller form factor and which exclusives you want. That's it.
I don't care who you are, what gender you are, what age you are, or where you are. There are only fangirls. There is no such thing as a fanboy. If you are a man that prefers one gaming system over the others, you are a fangirl
Yeeeaaaah.. FS is a crap place to "learn" And I actually never considered a male "chosen" or not, to be a man until they turn 18. Before that to me they're just boys
"My daughter used to use her original Wii to watch YouTube on the TV."
Oh man, I used to do that lot before I got my current PC built. I was impressed by how well it worked.

Everyone hates a GAMING SYSTEM fanboy. We all loved David Tennant so it's not just the general "fanboy".
PC master race, who the fuck goes on YouTube on their Wii U

I'm automatically a fanboy somehow.
