Nope on the first question. There are CFL teams and there used to be an NFL Europe that was basically the minor leagues, but that was too expensive to keep going. The NFL has help two games in London and one in Mexico City so far, but those are still NFL teams playing each other.
There are teams in Europe, and they do play American football. They are not invited to participate in the playoffs for the Superbowl, or any bowl game for that matter, due in part to the fact that the American leagues play at different times of the year than the European league and a large portion of the American rookies are sent to them to gain their field experience. Most of the European teams are owned and operated by the same people that own the American teams. And it could be seen as a conflict of interest if two teams owned by the same people ended up in the bowl game. The fans would SCREAM that the game was fixed, even with no evidence.
Not to mention that European teams were created by the NFL with the sole purpose of drumming up international interest in the game.
Baseball is played all over the world now as well and those teams are never invited to the "World Series" either, probably for the same reasons.
Well baseball is much more commonly accepted around the world. At least in east Asia, where I was stationed, they had leagues, independent of the MLB, with stadiums and a decent fan base. Although you would occasionally see a couple random white guys that didn't make it big in the US
There is talk however of London getting an NFL team in the future. Sooner than previously thought too...
With the Raiders getting pushed out, London is one city mentioned as a possible new home.
The best football players in the world play in the NFL. Similarly, the best baseball players play in the MLB and the best basketball players play in the NBA.
It is completely logical to call the Super Bowl Champion, World Series Champion, and NBA finals champion the World Champion.
