Nazi soldiers. They were different from the Wehrmacht which was the regular geman army. The SS were the guys at the camps and rounded up jews and other "undesirables". They were the real bad guys

This isn't even remotely factual. The hairstyle on the left is called "a standard man cut" and originated in the 30's (before the nazis) in America. The only difference between today's "standard man cut" and the original one is that it has become stylish to shave the sides bare. It looks similar to the German military cut because they are both easy to stylize (so that soldiers don't spend time styling their hair everyday) but it is also similar to the American military cut.

I'm 3 years late to this thread, but the Germans had a longer cut on top to cushion their helmets, they were not styling their hair on the field, just FYI.
