I forgot one could buy physical copies of software. I guess they make sense for computers that are not networked; and they've got to be bought cash. Being anonymous is tough.
Exactly that. Anyone will a tiny but of knowledge could just copy the file from the USB and pass it on. Where as one needs certain software to effectively do this with a disk.
Unfortunately its about cost and waste. USB, expensive and if not USB 3.0 or higher, slow as fuck, and USB 3.0 is expensive. DVD/blu-ray disk are cheaper, are manufactured to exact size and can installed faster
I don't know, it seems like it would be better to have a stack of CD's on a shelf rather than to have a cumbersome pile of flash drives. Seems like a pain in the ass.
