To be fair I know exactly what heartbreak is like when you're Bella's age and I curled up in a ball and went numb because I loved that guy so much. What she did was perfectly normal, but it is a virtue to be stronger than that. The other women were motivated for the greater good higher than themselves. Bella's whole world was Edward, there was no higher good, she was just in normal high school.
No, it is fantasy. The problem is that some libraries, bookstores and the... people that work there refuse to acknowledge Science Fiction as its own genre and insist on putting it in the same section as High Fantasy.
You do that and you are disrespecting the legacy of Verne, Wells, Asimov, Clarke, Bradbury, Heinlein, Le Guin and many many more scifi authors.
I told a librarian off once that their books were sorted poorly and needed to be redone. I also won't do business with bookstores that do that.
