Try to imagine all the horror stories ingrained into the mind of every girl, their mothers and fathers and advisors warning them about the dangers of rape and murder. The statistics, 1 in 3 women will be a victim of sexual abuse in her lifetime. Imagine being a woman, or a girl, not knowing whether or not the nice guy you just met is actually a nice guy, and being brave enough to take that chance and go out with them.
Aaalso, there's a pretty damn decent chance you wouldn't have been able to post this without the inventions of Hedy Lamarr, whose radio guidance system for torpedoes eventually became the underpinnings for the technologies of Wi-Fi and bluetooth, so, y'know, irony. Men don't make all the machines.
It sucks that in this society women should have to be afraid that every man they encouter is a possible rapist/murderer. It's moraly degrading and profoundly upsetting as a man, who like anyone, treats all with deserving respect and is specifically a man of peace and equality. I've never thought "I'm going to rape her", no true Man ever has. Only misguided sick men.
