We don't need fewer guns, we need more guns. If you roll up on somebody and there's a 9 in 10 chance of getting shot, you might just bid them a wonderful night and continue on your way.

"If anything this just shows failure of gun control" - as usual, its probably a little bit more complex than that. As long as guns are more or less freely available all over the country, local gun control in a crime ridden area will only be a business model for trafickers.

We need guns in certain places, but not every where. Like, don't bring a gun to a bar because angry drunk people exist. What we need is sense.

That's one of the places someone with a permit can't take their gun. I believe the otherst are schools, places of worship, government offices, I think that's it, this is is off the top of my head add to it if you know of more

I am not quite sure about anything else. We need guns out in places that you actually need them, not your local Cracker Barrel.

Varies state to state and with type of permit. Certain permits allow you to carry in bars, (Some of us work freelance security), if you're not drinking. Schools are off limits nationwide as well as federal buildings. State and local buildings vary. Our county hall used to let you you check a weapon at the door with security, I have not been there in a few years though.

I wonder, are regular citizens allowed to carry stun guns? You could immobilize them, and if you had said stun gun in a different situation it wouldn't be as dangerous.

That's probably exactly the point. The people all talk about the right to bear arms, when really they mean the right to carry a DEADLY arm. Just pull the trigger and blow someone's brain out, that's what people regard as a weapon for self defense. I don't think any US legislation will really change any of that.
