...too late, people are already offended. Asexual is a lack of gender... so it's not a gender, trans (as in transition) gender is switch from one gender to another... so still not it's own gender... so what other gender is there? Not rhetorical, really, go ahead and enlighten me.
Okay androgynous is a lack of gender. Asexual in an orientation, but still not a gender. So still sticking to the question what other genders are there beyond male and female? Down vote all you want, but I really am looking for an answer.
Hermaphrodites, like earthworms, can change their gender at will to suit reproduction. Humans, as far as I'm aware, can't do that. But yeah, being intersex is a legitimate genetic malfunction... so that makes three genders, I guess?
idk i think there's two genders (male and female) but theres a spectrum between them. you could be completely one, or you could be half way between the two, or you could identify as not having a gender, but theres still genetically only two options
There are two birth sexes determined by chromosomes. However gender is a spectrum separate from sex. There are people who identify with neither the male nor female gender and fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. This is not just tumblrites making stuff up. It is related to neurochemistry. Especially hormonal differences can cause someone to feel most comfortable and most themselves identifying somewhere between male and female gender. Most of the time gender and sex correlate. Sometimes they don't. People often don't understand experience that is foreign to them
Well, I am genderqueer, meaning i go from male to female, or neither, or both. But i am unable to understand how there could be more than male, female, and neither?
