Maybe we've reached the point where discriminating against sex offenders is 'kink-shaming'.
Anyways, I'd be careful about hiring druggies or theives too. Having to worry about one of them sneaking off or stealing something is probably a huge factor in why many ex-cons can't get a job in the first place.
Problem is, a lot of them do squander the opprotunity.
I've seen it, a guy is made apprentice and given a shot to do good, only to steal from work sites, or get high just before or during work.
Objectively speaking, the smartest thing a boss can do is put criminal applications at the bottom of the list.
Well, obviously it may not be the smartest thing to hire someone with a criminal record from a business perspective but if you have the heart to try and give them a chance. That may just be naive though, I have no real life experience to know any thing about that. Just seems like a real stupid thing for the criminal to do
I know, but you'll learn quick if you manage or run a workforce of any kind, or just hang out near someone who does.
