By this logic, because there are mass shooters all gun ownership advocates support murder. BLM has had a ton of peaceful protests all over the US that weren't televised because there were no issues, this writer is cherry picking in the same way people cherry pick when they focus only on bad cops and ignore good ones.
I hate BLM as much as the next guy, but I don't think BLM told him to kill those cops, there might be people in BLM who want to kill cops, but I don't think BLM as a whole wants to kill cops, they could stand to be a bit more vocal about not inciting violence, though. Either way, I don't like their attitude. However, just as this man does not represent all BLM 'activists' why then does he represent all gun owners? Not saying anyone here has said that, but that's what the politicians are saying.
As with any conflict there are bad people on both sides. Bad poorly trained police officers who may or may not have a racial biases and bad people responding to the situation in the worst possible way. Black lives matter are just words, words trying to wake up a nation that is ignoring the facts. The police who kill black people are not punished. This country needs to change.
I don't know about BLM, but rather people who would share anti-cop sentiments. In their eyes, no wrong is done by killing a "pig". I worry for the condition of our America the more and more the resentment grows for things that are necessary for society to survive are edging closer to a chopping block. What the shooters in Dallas did was tell a part of the population, who may be going through hard times, or may be looking for an excuse to vent unhealthily in sick ways it's fine to kill who you consider your enemies. BLM prioritize black lives, hence the movements name. Nothing wrong with it, but when you try to represent millions of people who can share many things, including violent hate, and the spokesperson of such a group does not condemn such vitriol, you will be viewed as a dangerous group. For fuck's sake, you don't say your marching for BLM and tell the cops who are there to protect people and make sure nothing goes wrong "We should shoot you."
My problem with the BLM movement isn't that I think they are trying to say other lives don't matter, my problem with it is that its a form of segregation. Hear me out, when we create groups that focus on the rights of one marginalized group its damaging because we could get much more done if we were to focus on human rights rather than black rights, or women's rights, or any other group's rights for that matter. We need to stand together against hate and focus on everyone not just one group.
@guydude Why do you think BLM is a form of segregation. Cops have been killing innocent black people for generations. So when they get together to say stop...why is that a problem? If Cops were unjustly killing Chinese people and it was CLM, would you feel the same way? If you were in the Congo and they were lynching Americans and it was ALM, would you feel the same way? Just think about it, if the shoe was on the other foot.
Idk guydude, I'm not sure the "treat everyone equally" approach is a realistic option right now. Yes, it would certainly be ideal in the future, but right now there are still plenty of people discriminating against specific groups, which means for the time being we need to focus more on the needs and struggles of those marginalized groups until genuine equality is reached.
A sick person shouldn't go to the doctor once a year because that's how often a healthy person goes; they should go to the doctor frequently until they themselves are healthy, and THEN start going once a year.
@yozogog yes I have thought about if it was on the other foot quite a lot actually, I realize now I never covered why I thought it was a form of segregation in my original post so I apologize. I think we need to realize and address that it isn't just black people being shot by police there are so many of cases of unarmed people being shot by police of every race I would post them here but I don't want to devalue the ones I can't list and you can do your own research. My complaint is why are we complaining about black people being shot by police rather than complaining about people being shot by police, yes right now we're fighting for black people because they seem to be the biggest victims of police right now, but what happens when it shifts and its not black people anymore? This sounds rhetorical and such but I want a real answer for both questions if anyone can give me one because I really can't think of one myself.
@guest I hear you on the " hospitals for well people" people analogy it seems like a strong argument at first right, but I'm not talking about right now, I'm talking about a hypothetical situation where let's say in the future it's not black people anymore it's some other race and we haven't been fighting for their rights and now we have to do this whole thing again but for a different race. I want to stop this for all races, not just one.
Why do you think BLM are terrorists. When it's ppl from their community getting unjustly murdered by police? Aren't the police the terroists. If you were in another country and theiron police where murdering white people, constantly for no reason, how would you feel?
They're not in the same league as ISIS but they use intimidation tactics and several cop killers have done so in their name. They, like the New Black Panthers, are common terrorists.
And no, the blacks are not being murdered by cops. That is a lie.
Are you serious? Did you not see the videos? And the Black Panthers were not terrorist. They provided for their community. Started breakfast at school, created a platform for change..... please do yourself a favor and read a history book and stop getting all your information from Fox News
And I mean that with love. Many of us are so unaware about what this community has gone through. If you take an APES history course or college American history, you learn the truth. I love being an American. But if BLM are considered terrorists then America is super duper terrorists.
Jesus, I'm all for free speech, but encouraging people to attack, or even kill, is not free speech. Call me a cracka, honkey, Kike-loving faggot all you want, but I will defend myself if action is called upon to harm me or my family.
Yozogogo, historical problems are just that, historical problems. I have never owned a slave, my father, my grandfather, my great-grandfather, as far as I know, nobody in my family has owned a slave. Now, say a black man comes up to me and tells me otherwise, and says that I owe him reparations. Now, he was never a slave, and I was never a slave owner, do I honestly owe him my hard earned money?
A freakin men my brother!
And @yozogogo I assume by "this community" you are referring to blacks. Btw I know it was an autocorrect error but apes history? I totally lost my shit! I'm freaking dieing here!!!
Anyway, as @chakun said it is in the past. No one alive for quite a number of years has owned a slave or been one. It's past time we all get the fuck over it and move on. But regardless how blacks may have been treated IN THE PAST they have no excuse for white hatred/cop hatred and violence, and anyone who would make excuses for the racist and violent behavior of either the Black Panthers (new or old) or BLM is something less than a human being in my book. I'm assuming that you simply do not understand what these two organizations are really about, and I highly suggest learning.
@guestwho
"No one alive for quite a number of years has owned a slave or been one." "It's past time we all get the fuck over it and move on."
By that logic, it can be said that "no one has killed a Jew for some years because of anti-semitism. It's time we all get over the Holocaust and move on."
Are they not the same?
@loveisfries, they aren't the same, the Holocause was not only an act of Genocide but also much more recent, Slavery however did not involve people tracking down and systematically killing people but rather forcing them from their homes into worse conditions and forcing them to do work, I don't support Slavery, but you in no way can compare the Holocaust to Slavery, because while Slavery lasted a lot longer the Holocaust was much worse of an event. I personally believe the same thing as Guestwho, Slavery was abolished hundreds of years ago, people shouldn't still be upset about something that was abolished in the 1800s, while the Holocaust took place in the 1930s and 1940s, which was only about 70 or 80 years ago, so people have the right to still be upset about that, as unlike Slavery where it would have happened to people long dead, there are still people alive who experienced the Holocaust. You can't compare the two, but it's time that we get over Slavery, which was a long time ago.

People today are still affected by slavery in many ways, so saying something happened a long time ago isn't a sufficient reason for people to "get over it." Forgetting a very large piece of a country's past isn't particularly wise.
Forgetting something and getting over something are two different things, getting over something can be forgetting something but it can also be forgiving something or many other things. Saying something happened a long time ago is a sufficient reason to get over it, sure people are affected by Slavery, but not nearly as much as other events. The point of my post was to tell you that you can't compare Slavery to the Holocaust because Slavery doesn't come close to how bad the Holocaust was, not that Slavery wasn't bad, it just doesn't come close to the Holocaust, however I did say we should get over Slavery, it happened a long time ago, that is enough because it happened so long ago that no one in America today has or had any relation to Slavery, our ancestors may have, but we never did, so it's time to get over it, we can't go blaming people today for things their ancestors did, sure there are no Slavers from that time still alive to blame, but we can't go blaming their descendants
@loveisfries they aren't quite the same thing for a couple of reasons. First, the Jewish Holocaust was perpetrated by a single group of individuals who are no longer with us, but, anti-Semitism is still very rampant throughout the world, and Israel lives every freaking day with the very real possibility of being eradicated by almost every neighbor.
Secondly, they are different because there are so many individuals and groups with a political and financial interest in stirring racial unrest on the black side that don't do it on the Jewish side.
If the small minority of blacks and whites who keep causing trouble would just shut up, we'd all end up getting along just fine.
You should ask yourself why, after electing a BLACK president TWICE, are race relations worse now than before?

Oh, I don't know, does police brutality ring a bell?
Really some of you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pick up a history book. Slavery was an atrocious act that lasted for over 400 years...400 years. In slaved Africans were systematically murdered, lynched, killed, raped, experimented on, beaten. Men, women and children for 400 years. It wasn't just "oh they worked for free...". And it also wasn't just oh your free now. Same things were happening even after the abolishment, as they are still going on today. I don't even know how this post got to slavery. But like I said if you were living in another country for generations and their cops or military or citizens were intentionally killing Americans or whites...how would you feel? Period. Why are you mad at people for standing up for their rights as citizens? Why are they considered terrorists but the US is not considered terrorists when they constantly go into other countries and kill tens of thousands of people. WAKE UP. once we can see that these injustice exists we can work together & movE forw
Aaannndddd.... It's been over for a little while and no one alive is guilty.
Also, America did not start it, did not go to Africa to kidnap them, and was far from the largest slave owners. Go bitch at Spain.
Quite true. Also China, Korea, India, Arabia... Slavery is very much alive in the world; we just call it human trafficking now. It is such a problem that almost all larger city police departments have a dedicated human trafficking division.

Here, this took me like two seconds.

BTW the southern poverty law center is certainly not conservative so if even they say this it must only be worse.
Please learn something before shooting your mouth off again.
