Faeries, the Fair Folk, seelies. Like Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Tam Lin, Queen Mab, Puck, Oberon, or Rumplestiltskin. Also, Maleficent in the recent movie. Supernatural creatures who like to play small tricks on humans, like leading them to their deaths or stealing firstborn children.
If you offer your child, you will end up having one, probably, possibly even regardless of gender. Also, if you eat their food, you cannot leave their realm. They've also spread STDs, blighted crops, made people dance to death, and straight up sacrificed people to Hell.
Fairies do not fuck around. You know Tinkerbell? She probably shanked a man and ate his kidneys. Same goes for the Blue Fairy and the Fairy Godmothers.
I've been there several times and it's quite beautiful. This is the first time that I hear of disappearing people, and if this is the case, it must be because they left the paths and then lost track. I'd actually find it quite hard to get lost in there, there are signs everywhere. Don't worry, you'll be fine.
People in Japan are killing themselves near the Fuji Mountain, a popular novel described someone killing themselves in the forest close to the mountain, and it got so bad that they had to put signs to stop people from doing so; these signs read "Think about good stuff and focus on the good part of life" or similar
People were killing themselves in that particular forest long before some novel described it. It's is a hauntingly beautiful place and depressed people wish to surround themselves with the forest's gentle peace before taking their own life. It's ironic that the majesty of the forest calms the sadness just long enough to follow through with suicide. Don't know what this has to do with Germany's woods though.
15,000 missing persons? 40 People a day wander in and are reported lost? Aside from this meme, I have found zero evidence of this. It's a big tourist area.
Uhm I'm safe
That does not sound fun
