were people really drinking shit tons of coffee in high school? I mean I went to one of the most prestigious schools in my state and no one drank coffee. I suppose every o often you'd see someone buy a hot chocolate from the seven eleven down the street but the only people who drank coffee were the teachers
A lot of people drink coffee at my school but not necessarily at school. But now there's a Starbucks a couple minutes walking distance away so a lot of people drink coffee right before school
Schools around here don't have AC. Gyms and athletic complexes are often gifted by alum or built through a grant, not from maintenance budget. How many times can you repair what vandals destroy befor uou finally say "fuck those little ingrates". Go to bed earlier. You are there to learn life skills, not be coddled.

What life skills? Seriously unless you on your own take a personal finance class you don't learn anything.
Not every lesson comes from the books. Punctuality. Completing projects (especially stupid ones) on schedule. Working with a team. Adapting to the whims of a teacher (boss). Earning what you get. Learning that you are not the only one in the room with thoughts and feelings.

Now look at the coursework, I use math every day. I use written and verbal communication skills every day. My wife uses these but on a different level every day. Unless you want to be assigned a career at age 12 and have all of your classes tailored to that training you will have a general studies approach in STEM or STREAM classes. Once you have a background in the basics you can choose a field and gear your college classes toward that goal. Political science, engineering, construction, nursing, accounting, journalism, sales to be successful at all of these jobs you need basic training.
Just like to say private school is exactly the same. Accept we get more bs rules. And we cant step on the gym floor unless we are in a specific type of shoes
If high school is all that stressful for you, you are really in for a bad time in adulthood. Instead of only having to worry about yourself, you'll have to worry about a spouse and kids. Instead of having to do the stupid tasks your parents make you do, you'll need to worry about a job and providing for your family and instead of just worrying about yourself. If high school stresses anybody out this much, adulthood is going to be horrific.
So what? I was stressed back in high school, I am stressed now. You can't just say "stop being stressed" just because later in life there's gonna be a lot more responsibilities and stress ahead. It's like saying "stop being hungry, children in Africa suffer from far more hunger than you."
Every high school student sets down their coffee. Everyone magically falls asleep at 9 and wakes at 6. Your comment has revolutionized the school system.

Yep, that sounds like a teenager.
Also, thanks for reopening an old comment threat. Really appreciate it. :/
