I can't understand -not- being friends afterwards. Why would you ever date anyone if they weren't your friend first? Furthermore, because you're no longer dating, that person automatically becomes an enemy? Seems shallow
Just because someone isn't your friend doesn't mean you hate them, just like not hating someone doesn't make them your friend. Just because two people break up and don't remain friends that doesn't mean they hate each other.
So...not being angsty and spiteful after a breakup might mean you were never in love? I call bullshit, it's just what a rational and mature person would do. Now of course hanging out every day after breaking up is suspicious, but staying friends or just neutral with each other is a good attitude.
