That's not SO much of a problem, although if you care about something you're welcome to comment about it. The problem lies in when people mass downthumb people when they discover they don't share the same worldview.

Quite so. I think if the usernames were tied to the thumbs, and if guests were not allowed to thumb, things would be quite different.
