Why in the name of the AllFuck would you want a random stranger to walk you to your car, carry your groceries, and chat? That's not gentlemanly behavior, that's straight up creepy.
Exactly. Especially since society basically teaches us stuff like don't walk alone at night, put your key between your fingers, carry mace/pepper spray to defend yourself.
Not that those aren't good ideas

I agree they are good ideas for self-protection. But the thing is, this guy basically said "ok don't give a nice guy a chance and let him walk you to your car." Well we don't want you to walk us to our car because of the fact that society views women like prey and teach us not to trust strange men like you.
Does that make sense? Sometimes I suck at getting my point across with things like this.
it's not that we don't want to get to know nice guys, because believe me, we do. it's just that we're afraid in general. we don't know which guys are nice and which guys aren't. which still doesn't make that much sense - because you won't know until you try - but.. you get me? it's like not knowing which women want you for you or only your money. you'll never know if you don't try but the feeling is still there.
actually it's because "nice guys" aren't nice people. They will start a false with someone and shower them with compliments and essentially be a servile bitch for a while. Then, they will start to think that the girl (who thinks that this guy is just a friend) owes them sex or soemthing. Then, when they inevitably get rejected (in their terms, friendzoned), they freak out and say all girls want douchebags.
"Nice guys" – people who expect you to fuck them because they opened a door for you that one time.
Actual nice people – people who don't expect anything for their kindness, especially not your body!
The problem with these "nice guys" is that they act like they are superior for basic human politeness, but by doing so they are extremely impolite and creepy.
Nice guys/bad guys aside. Since when did it become a crime to decline a favor. If I can carry my bags without help, regardless of who's offering, I'm likely gonna decline the help. As long as you're declining politely, I don't really see why this guy has his panties in a wad.
"Gentlemanly behaviour" is absolutely fine, the problem is when you start thinking that you're better than everyone else and women are idiots for rejecting you.

I think this one is beyond "growing up" at this point... he's restraining order and court appearance bound.
