One conflicting account will put the rest into question, and the fact that they were knowingly obstructing the road in the first place will hurt the case as well.
No he wasn't.
Some people dragged him away.
We're still not sure if they were random people, his friends, or Secret Police, but they made him get out of the way.
Oh, the precious snowflakes. They're unhappy that "their" candidate didn't win the election, so they're inconveniencing everyone else as a tantrum, and imagining that they're socially aware and mean something more than acting like spoiled infants.
Ah yes, because preventing regular people from getting to their jobs, and potentially getting them fired is a GREAT way to show that you're standing for something.
@rwby_rose it didn't say it was a great way but it still is a form of protesting. Marches do the same thing block traffic, like the March in Selma. They must have been terrible people to block a bridge by marching across it...
To add to that (and not saying they're all justified) but you may one day feel so strongly about something that you feel like this form of protesting is right. It's hard to relate to people protesting like this if you don't share the same view. That's understandable.
Regardless of their views or my views,I would never protest like this. I don't believe in putting people's livelihoods at risk just to protest about something.
I can understand where you're coming from but if you get fired because you were late as a result of the protest either you have been late numerous times before or you can file for wrongful termination. I belive there are some things that call for this kind of protesting. And to touch on emergency personnel not getting through, I've seen them let emergency personnel get through and believe they should let them through with ease.
How?? Maybe if you're protesting the immoral use of automobiles. If youre mad at the government, go protest outside a government building or something. Don't go block fucking traffic. Makes no sense, and you aren't doing shit. If they blocked me I would just slowly drive foward until the assholes moved. There's other ways to get attention
Furthermore, it's illegal. You cannot block traffic. You cannot prohibit emergency personnel from traveling. And during the Baltimore riots (where I lived) emergency vehicles couldn't get through. Imho
What if the way you are protesting endangers others who are not involved in your protest or aren't the focus point of your protest (like someone needing medical attention because of an allergy or was hurt and needs immediate attention)?
Traffic was blocked. What more proof do you need of creating a situation where that is possible? The issue is you are looking for proof it HAS happened all while knowing that blocking traffic can CAUSE it to happen. What about pregnant ladies that may be in the car? Would you want them giving birth on the road and potentially them or their child dying because they weren't in a hospital during a birth emergency? When you block traffic, you have no idea what emergency you are preventing from reaching help. You can protest, just don't hold innocent people hostage while you do it. That is exactly what blocking traffic does....it doesn't make people wait for a sandwich at a restaurant. It holds them between hitting someone with a car or possibly being hit by vehicles coming up from behind. I've almost been hit twice while stopped on the high way. It wasn't due to protest, just traffic. Had I been hit, I wouldn't be here today. If I had been hit (and survived) because of a protest, I would
Make it my life's mission to destroy that group because of their ways of protest....regardless of how righteous the reason the protest is. God forbid my children are with me at the time. I honestly think I'd lose my mind and I don't know what I would do to those people that blocked traffic.
When someone says "it has happened before" I want them to prove to me it has.... but like I said it my comment before that "Emergency personnel would get through. But if for some reason they didn't then yes it would be wrong." So all that shit you just said about "The issue is you are looking for proof it HAS happened all while knowing that blocking traffic can CAUSE it to happen." Is out the window, and like I said before, I'm entitled to my opinion as you are to yours...
How can emergency personnel get through if there are other cars that can't get out of the way? And you completely ignored me saying I've almost been killed on a highway from being stuck in traffic...twice. When you stop people on a highway, you endanger lives. I hope that if something bad ever does come out of a protest on a highway, it happens to you or others who have this opinion that it's okay to endanger other people's lives because of a protest. That'll change your opinion real quick. And yes, you are entitled to your opinion. Granted it's a stupid ass opinion and I'm going to ignore it, but don't forsake logic and reason because you believe emergency personnel (or people in their own cars on the way to the hospital) can magically maneuver through other vehicles.
I've already addressed that concern earlier in the comments about how can emergency vehicles get through and to be brief, the same way they do when there is an accident blocking the roadway.
In my opinion this is an acceptable way of peaceful protesting.

Why would you block a random highway when you could just do something like have a rally or a giant peaceful walk?
That's what black people did when they wanted equal rights. they walked in the streets, they held rallies, they prayed, they held up signs and chanted. That's what an actual protest should be. They were peaceful, and they fought. Most of all, though, they got what they wanted.
You need to do whatever gets you attention for your cause. If a peaceful walk doesn't get you that attention, then so be it, block traffic. And might I remind you that the reason those peaceful protests in the 60s and 50s ever got any attention, or ''they got what they wanted'' because the protesters were arrested by cops and beaten to a pulp by bystanders for naught. Seriously, if you think blocking traffic is bad, you should see some of the shit the french unions have pulled over the past fifty years.
When crossing the bridge in Selma they were blocking it by walking over it

But causing a public nuisance isn't your objective. You're supposed to tell the people your cause, what you stand for. Not to annoy people half to death by blocking them.
To be fair, public nuisance could describe a good number of the sit ins and boycotts that occured during the civil era. People didn't like the way they protested, and felt that it was hurting their chances for change.

They weren't costing anyone person's valuable job if the people not involved were with them.
This could be costing jobs, hell it could be potentially costing lives if there are emergency vehicles with people who need to get to a hospital immediately, because they would be blocked by some asshole people blocking the highway. Protesting is fine, but blocking traffic isn't a good way to protest.
Some people dragged him away.
We're still not sure if they were random people, his friends, or Secret Police, but they made him get out of the way.
Context.
It's immature, looks bad, and gives the general public a reason to hate them.
