The dog one made me feel intensely sad. My husband went through a similar thing as the 2nd story, he was born with double renal dysplasia (one kidney was missing and the other extremely malformed) and when he was 4 he was waiting on a kidney transplant. Well one night his mum went to check on him as he slept and saw a figure standing over his cot watching him, it was his great nan. She said a prayer asking God to take her in his place. The house phone goes, his Mum answers it and it's his Dad. She says to him that his grandmother was here watching over the baby, he says that's impossible as she had just passed away in her home. She hangs up the phone and goes to bed. The next day they get a call saying they have a cadaver kidney ready for my husband (a young boy was in an accident and died so his parents let his organs be used for transplant).
I only care about doggos.
