Depends on which denomination of christianity you are dealing with. Catholicism has a hierarchy of sins, so some mean more time in purgatory or good works to work off. In Lutheranism, all sins are equal in God's eyes. But Lutheranism also states that forgiveness is given by grace through faith, not earned by works. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.
