He actually had his dog killed as to not allow the Reds to torture her.

People often overlook that even though Hitler was an evil man, he was also human. He loved to paint and enjoyed entertaining children. From Hitler's perspective, he didn't do anything wrong. To him, he was doing what he thought was best for Germany. I'm not saying I agree, don't get me wrong, but it's just amazing at how people are surprised when he actually gives a shit about something.
By portraying Hitler as an inhuman monster, we make it easier to convince ourselves that normal people can't do horrible things. This is not a correct conclusion.

It's easier to think of someone as a monster than to admit a human could be capable of such atrocities. IMO when you commit such a crime or similar crimes such as rape or murder, you lose your humanity and don't deserve to be treated as such.
He needs to exist as an example of something that is possible for humans to be. If we say 'he was just a monster' we deny that he is something that we could becomd if we aren't careful.
Me: Aren't we all technically animals?
Hitler: fuck
