If he were truly that generous, why doesn't he give that money now?

Oh would you stop it already with these living corpses. They're so"generous" They're gonna give away their money 2 months before their 103rd birthday. Fuckers. And no one says They're giving their family's fortune. Kirk Douglas' family is still billionaire, he gave away only his money, two weeks from now he's gonna die. It's not like he's peniless like you're depicting him, sons actors and producers and grandchildren fashionistas and "public personnas'' are gonna buy him bread and yoghurt. Sucha scrotum of a man. PeniSless scum.

Why don't you do everyone a favour, and shut the fuck up

@shepard530 Why don't you look up how he lives. Just because he isn't giving away all his money until he dies, doesn't mean he isn't doing anything good with it while he lives.

And 1% of it is 780,000,000$. That's a budget of my country! Fuchead (Buffet, not you, you're empty head snowglobe) .Why didn't he give it in the 90s. We had more poverty then. Cocks.

If you knew this guy, you'd know this is the only way to deal with him

I believe most of his assets are not in cash. He's keeping them in investments so he can give more later. If he donated everything now, not only will he lose the potential gains, the real value will decrease due to inflation because they can't just spend billions of dollars in such a short time.

Travel a lot, quit my job, buy a houseboat, many many pets, donate lots and lots towards rainforest projects, swim with dolphins, buy my friends and family nice things (houses/cars)... I'd know some stuff to do with it.

Well there is a difference between his net worth and his fortune and his fortune is a lot less than his net worth

How about let's all be encouraged to be generous and give what we can? If we rely on the billionaires to solve the world's problems, then we're going to have quite the wait.

He's also a proponent of the richest 1% here in America (which he is one of) paying higher taxes, since they don't have to pay much now cause trickle down economics is bullshit
pokethebear
You can voluntarily pay more tax than you must. I wonder if he has. I doubt it based on statements he has made.
dicklydick
I guess it's like he feels he should be made to, but he's not gonna do it voluntarily, but i feel he at least doesn't go for more tax break loopholes

He uses the "loopholes" available now. He orchestrated the BK/Horton's merger to move the company's hq to Canada to pay less US corporate tax.
dicklydick
I guess I should do more research on him, but I do still know he's a proponent for higher taxes on the 1% to some degree based on interviews
pokethebear
Not to sound cynical, but have you considered how public perception of him as a "good guy" drives the value of his holdings up? Gates, Winfrey and scores of the world's richest have been great at manipulating public perception of them. Good image consultants can name their price.
