You'd think that facts would help people understand the world around them and that they'd alter their beliefs if proof arose that challenged them. Unfortunately, not so with my brother in law.
We've told him there's no real scientific difference between "races".
We've talked to him about there being no studies that have proven white people with blond hair and blue eyes to be more intelligent, or more emotionally stable than all other people on the planet.
He won't hear it. He proudly proclaims himself to "not be a rational person".
How someone can be proud of that trait is beyond me.. but somehow it's a badge of honor to him...
I'm asking this purely because I don't know, not because I want to start shit or be an asshole, but...
If there aren't differences beyond color, why do only black people have the gene for sickle cell? And why are eyes/noses different between white people, black people and Asian people?
Things that I am curious about.
Evolution caused different traits, for example Asians evolved smaller eyes because they lived in snowy areas and sunlight reflecting off snow made it hard to see so their "squint" shields their eyes
The variations between races are not larger than the variations within a race, i.e. between north and south europeans, except for a few external characteristics. When doctors ask for the "race" of a patient, it's like asking for certain predispositions, like high blood pressure, diabetes, allergies or incompatibilities to certain drugs. The adaptions of your ancestors can make a difference in some of those predispositions and apparently not all races look alike. There is a lot more variation between races in other species though, making the definitions of different human races pretty much obsolete in general.

This is better than the nair instead of conditioner idea!!
