I have to disagree. NASCAR is the biggest waste. Formula 1 cars are the most aerodynamic and technologically advanced vehicles that can be produced, whereas NASCAR's are trucks in comparison

The auto manufacturers use the track data from fuel consumption and collisions to improve aerodynamics and accident surviveability in their civilian vehicles.

Commercial flights are a waste of fuel. You know what it takes to get a 747 to another continent? F1 cars, or any other race cars only do a couple dozen rounds, that's it.

Flying celebrities around in private jets so they can scold us on our irresponsible use of fossil fuels is up there too. Jane Fonda, Leo Dicaprio, Neil Young, David Suzuki...

Hypocritical, yes, but still, a few private jets are not as wasteful as hundreds of airliner flights.

F1 is cool because of the engineering put into the cars. I'd say it's worth it. Besides, they run on other things. Aeroplanes which people fly on seem to be a bigger waste.
