Too bad humans are Fing everything up here anyways, I think A good humanity cleanse for the earth would be best, even if it came in the form of attacking aliens
I rather like the thought of the early bird theory. We have all these movies and games where there are these ancient civilizations out there that are enigmas. What were they like? Why did they move on? What led them to this? Vast empires so far advanced from the rest of the civilizations that hey treat them merely as momentary pique of interest if they bother at all. Like a funny video on Youtube. Amusing or neat but nothing truly remarkable that would have a real effect on their everyday lives. To think that that, is us. We're the ones future races puzzle about and try to reverse engineer our tech only to have accident that might take out a planet for something to us is no more advanced than a microwave.
I mean the Bible was pretty focused on "Love one another" and "Don't have an affair with your neighbor's wife," it's not like "Hey, aliens exist" would've been very relevant to the conversation. And God is all-knowing and we are not, so he might just be keeping it a secret from us to keep us safe.
Regrettably, we have no idea what it was and it never repeated. It wasn't recorded or listened to in real time either. The only thing we have to show for it is is the printed readout of the signal strength.
Hypothesis for source of Wow! signal: How about an astrophysical maser with a cloud of atomic hydrogen as the masing medium? I wonder if you could achieve a population inversion of the hyperfine transition related to the 21 cm line.

Wait a second, if it's true that aliens are actually machines and not biological creatures, wouldn't that mean that they would have to have been built by biological creatures?
I remember hearing about some gamma ray burst that was 3/4 of the way to the edge of the known universe, and if it had occurred within a couple galaxies of ours, it'd have sterilized the earth.
then I remember I'm a Christian
God could've created other creatures and planets
