Yeah because "reports that he may have sexually abused" couldn't possibly be inaccurate.
Our court system has flaws but it's better than everyone acting like this.
And guess who's going to jail now. Stupid dad. Not only that killing the guy didn't make his kid "unkidnapped", now his child will be growing up without his fathers support and the latest lesson the kid learned from his dad is that law enforcement should be done by gun slinging through the world? Parenting done extremely wrong.
@famousone, and if the real story is that his Dad was the one abusing him, he turned to this man to get him away from it, they got caught, and the father popped him to keep his version of the story true?
You want to make kidnappjng a capital crime? Fine. But let everyone tell their side before anyone gets put down.
@f__kyeahhamburg Did you even watch the video? The dad never went to jail at all for it.Just 5 years probation (and 300 hrs community service). This incident was in the 80s anyway, and the dad died 3 years ago.
I don't condone violence but occurrences like this just have to be excused, at least in my opinion. Hurting a child in any way is completely unacceptable.
Whatever he deserves or doesn't don't you think it's kind of important that someone make an effort to make sure he actually did it? If I declared to someone tha you kidnapped my child and then shot you, you'd be ok with that?
Not like he was caught in the act or anything. Trials for cases like this are just a waste of time and money, they only exist so that the government isn't accused of extra judicial punishment.
The father did the system a favor, freeing up resources for cases that actually have some doubt.
Trials in cases like this are necessary because any line you trace other than "EVERYONE, ALWAYS, gets a fair trial and is innocent until proven guilty" is subjective, and what could go wrong with a subjective system?
The system isn't flawless, but that part isn't the one you want to change...
In the Old Testament, God instituted capital punishment for certain sins. Kidnapping was one such offense. The guilty party was to be stoned by the people. Although, that was under the old law.

If you read down to Jody's (the raped boy) comment on the matter, it implies that he really was molested, so you can stop complaining about it being verified before Gary shot him
It's fun to see everyone downvoting people who play "devil's advocate" by saying that taking justice into your own hands is bad.
Being innocent until proven guilty is the BASIS of our justice system. And you can't just turn it off because it fits your moral compass.
Damn, thats the second post in a really short time advocating this, it pisses me off...
