I see this turning into a comedic success story. The main character goes into business and opens a sandwich shop frequented by demons, kinda like the night club run by Lorne on Angel.
A sanctuary neutral ground where they can meet for a bite to eat and some who are banished can get a job to earn an honest wage.
The Seventh Circle Sandwich Shop.
"NO, no! No Th'R'aag'h. No. How many times do i have to tell you, opening a portal to H'El won't cook the roast beef faster. NO, roast BEEF, not BEAST! My fire insurance on this place is high enough as it is."
"I'm sorry Boah'Hth, KRA'gghath sauce isn't just magical, it's also unstable in this dimension. If anyone can figure out how to stabilize it, I'll carry it just for you buddy."
"NO, for the last time, I'm not going to carry unicorn meat... no matter how humane they are raise and slaughtered!"
Okay, I was thinking more of :
You have a 800x600 (for instance) but you have 2 50px black bars on the left and the right. Then you crop them out by deleting those pixels and you are left with a 700x600 picture, there should not be any loss in clarity, since every pixel in the image is left untouched (just "moved" 50px to the left since you changed the 0x0 position).

It's called cropping. You should try it sometime.
