Realized this when listening to my playlist

I think it's more that it's so accessible to everyone that the good stuff just gets drowned out.

Or, you only know about the good music because the bad music didn't leave a lasting impression in the public psyche and has since been forgotten.

This is something that will never ever go away, everyone will always say that their music is better than today's music

Autotune has messed things up

i like 70's and 80's rock a ton but i also love modern music like rolex, humble,I-spy i love that music as much as my other music. Just cause its different does not make it any worse.

Cause the bad music eventually gets forgotten
200 years from now on and they will say the same about our times with our music and literature and art cause ones that are not good enough will soon fade

It's probably got more to with the industry becoming corporatized, so what's profitable is more prominent that what sounds good.
