I mean...Airwrecka Shawniquieshieka McDougall isn't really an easy name to pronounce. And why the fuck would you name your child "air wrecker" in the first place? That's a shit name by any measure of social appropriateness.
Lmao when I see to many names I dont know how to say I first count the kids to see how many is there if it adds up I just say all here if not I ask each kid one by one to come to the front and say their name to me and I check it off.
With little kids it works great because it lets you say hello to each one personally and makes them feel like you will be a nice substitute. With older kids it lets you know who are the ones that will give you trouble lol
There are some that are African though as I've has people in my class whose parents immigrated from places like Uganda, but most stuff isn't. But certain names do have origins. I think Laquisha is a good example cause it was a French variant of an African name.
Ahhh America. The land that wants everyone to know they're better than the Brits, but still wants everyone to have English names because they think they're "easier."
Because most people speak English, but also it's not just English names. Names across cultures require pronunciations that other cultures don't do. Like in english we rarely if ever use letters with accents on the top of them. Other cultures use them like candy, though. Plus, with gaelic for example, sometimes things aren't pronounced how they look. In Japanese they don't have an L sound. So if you go there and your name is Lillian or something they won't be able to pronounce it as well.
"It's pronounced Shi-thead!"
Fghij, Klmno, Pqrst, Uvwxy, and Zed lol
