My teacher once marked my answer wrong on a test because I used a different (easier) method than he taught us

this happens way more than you think and the justification is always "it's about learning the method, not the right answer" which is just a bunch of horseshit IMO... especially when it crops up in college. I learned a long time ago if I'm going to figure out the answer a different way to just do it both ways and write a scathing review. Also, save the scathing review for after the test.... finish the test first lol.
