I dunno about the spell but he used the Invisibility Cloak, which Dumbledore actually gave him, it was forbidden because it was dangerous area and Fawkes was actually sent by Dumbledore to get Harry. Fawkes is a Horcrux

The invisibility cloak isn't forbidden, nobody thought the chamber existed so it wasn't forbidden, and Fawkes isn't a horcrux due to both it being against Dumbledore's character and the fact that he died as well as well as the fact that it was confirmed by J.K. Rowling that it isn't true.

Like half of Hogwarts was off-limits... he used a few spells that were off-limits but not "illegal"... usually because they screwed with other people (I was never thinking of the Patronus). The cloak was fine... I was thinking of the Marauder's Map... nobody was supposed to have that. He nearly gets all of his friends killed multiple times and actually manages to get some of them killed. Fawkes dies and comes back to life, but Fawkes is a Phoenix, not a Horcrux.

My point is... Dumbledore has a horrible track record when it comes to awarding points... it's like "congratulations you did the one fucked up thing we told you for a semester in a half to not do... 250 pts for Griffyndor!" He may award another house like 100 or 150 pts right before but he nearly ALWAYS finds some lame ass excuse to reward Griffyndor.
