That's it, I'm going to move to Canada. Free Healthcare, no Tampon Tax, Kinder Eggs, no horrible Government... It's only a 30 minute drive. Bye, America.
this comes up a bit in Australia but they ignore that toilet paper is taxed at the same rate as tampons. this eliminates the assertion they shouldn't be taxed because of necessity. there is no gender bias at play, just cherry picked statistics.
No, it's more subtle than that. In most places, tampons and other feminine hygiene products aren't tax exempt like other medical necessities are.
This is often called "the tampon tax."
Truth be told they are quite frankly a medical nececity. If all medical medical needs were taxed, there wouldn't be a conversation. But by making an exemption and not including them, its not only unfair, it also sends a bad message too.

They have a tax for being "Luxury Items". How about we stop paying for our "luxuries" and bleed all over the fucking floors of who ever thought the tax was a good idea?
Sorry, I got out of hand. The subject just makes me angry.
And call it what you want, when I'm grumpy, bleeding, hurting and just want to lay on the cold floor and die? Chocolate, or chocolatey baked goods is exactly what I need to soothe my soul
Chocolate actually helps with period cramps because it contains certain endorphans that alleviate stress. Dark chocolate is even better for you if you're dealing with periods too. It also just improves your mood too which is a nice thing when your uterus is trying to kill itself (literally)
