The quickest way to safety, order, and unity can usually be found in giving up individuality and freedom. The complexities of our world largely come from trying to balance appeasing many different view points and types of people. If you have the power to unilaterally eliminate dissent, harmony by adhering to the vision of a single ruling body is quick and easy for most, who unlike those sacrificed to create this world can live in in their "paradise." But even if such a ruler existed, where all that could be had without any draw backs or real compromises, someday they will die, and you will be left with a system where the next ruler may not be so skillful, a system that requires an exceptional human being to function, and if that were so easy to find most of history would be very different.
