A US bill is 6.14 inches long. Folded in half that is 3.52 inches. But- this is a stack of bills each 00.43 inches thick. Meaning that the "half" you see is actually less than half the length of the bill as the height of the "spine" of the bills takes up length equal to its thickness. Multiply the number of bills by 2 (folded over = twice the thickness). So without counting that is at least .5 inches off the length. Using a .5 estimate and round numbers, let's call the visible length of bill is 3 inches. Using the bills as scale- The alligator is holding the bills and the tip of its jaws are roughly half the size (1.5 inches.) In other words yes. I'd take the money. This alligator is on land (less danger) and very smallfrom what I can tell.
It's little, and I've pulled babies out of the water before. Not to say they can't hurt you, but you're fairly safe. The problem is after you get the money, babies make this noise deep in their throat that calls all the adults in the area around it.
