I would sew pockets my self.
Just cut the pockets out of a old pair of jeans and cut a slit where the fake pockets are and sew the old pockets onto the dress.
Same. I think it'd be easier to do if more schools still had their home ec type classes, that way you can alter your clothing as needed by having a basic skill you learn in school rather than complaining about big companies not tailoring to you. Cause most girls I know get pissy when I suggest they hem their own pants rather than paying way more for specific sized ones online.
We only had this type of classes in elementary school, but quite recently I got into embroidery and spray painting on clothes because I wanted to make myself some geeky movies and video games inspired stuff without having to pay too much money for licenced things, and it's surprisingly easy! I'm not even a crafty/artsy type, I'm pretty clumsy in fact, but I've been able to make decent looking things on my first try. More people should try it, I feel like many people are intimidated by these things because they think it's hard, but seriously, it's not, and YouTube tutorials can help you a lot.
