It's possible, but in general wealth in modern times is simply a question of who manages debt the best. If you have debt, but own a home, a decent car, and can afford food and other things I don't consider you poor. The wealthy tend to owe money on property they own, the wealthier are making payments and multiple properties. The "wealthy" drive cars they don't own, wear clothes and eat food bought on credit, own stocks, land, etc. The poorest people don't even have bank accounts let alone credit. They save cash at home in jars or hidden places and buy things in cash. They pay bills with money orders they pay cash for. A guy with $10k and good credit can own a house, and a new car in a major real estate market and increase his "worth" while someone with bad credit and $30k cash could barely afford a mid range new car. Excluding "bill gates" rich, the wealthiest Americans are those who owe the most money. Even celebrities tend to not be that rich. It's simply other people pay their way.
Good one. Bonus points for accuracy. Animals tend to be the high end computers of the past. Either a luxury item for those with money, or a necessity of performing work with an amoritized cost.
Today the rich have debt and the poor have cash.
What a reversal of fortunes.
