Bearded Dragons do this too. I had a male and female, Romeo and Juliet...they were completely in love. They mated and Juliet got pregnant. Romeo would bring her leaves of lettuce and crushed crickets lol. At some point I had to take her to the vet and I think Romeo thought she was gone forever since they had never been seperated. I came home and Romeo had drown himself in his water bowl. 2 days later Juliet did the same :( I guess that's more heart broken than lonely though
I know. When I named them I thought it was cute...I was pretty young and didn't know how that story ended. When I finally read the story I was like "whoa!...oh :("
Of course they'll also push others off the ice and into the water first so that if there are any predators down there they'll be able to see them as they eat whoever they pushed.
Sadly they were living up to their names
