I find it unlikely that they refused to talk to him. I feel like they wanted confirmation that he could actually buy a car and they got offended and left. It's a smart thing to do. You can't waste time on people who are essentially trolling you when it's your paycheck that is on the line.

My wife went to go test drive a new model of car when it first came out. Sales guy asked if she intended to buy it. She told him that if she liked the car she and I would come back that night and buy the car. He wouldn’t give her the test drive. She drove the car at a different dealer a week later and we bought it there.

For some reason I pictured the first dealership having exotic and expensive cars. And the 2nd dealership is a used car dealership and she just bought a 15 years old honda civic haha
