Well companies own prisons and it is really just to make money so this being a option is not a surprise.

There was something a few years ago about how prisons were paying off judges to give harsher sentences so more people would be sent to prison

Why though? U.S.A is a world potency, a really strong country, just because of things like the one mentioned in the article it doesn't mean that suddenly, the country is doomed..

I don't really have a problem with this. Of course any funds will need to be sourced before they get the upgrades but I have no problems letting criminals fund their own incarceration.

Well normally it costs hundreds of tax dollars a day to pay for prisoners so it's not a bad idea
