Yes, from a compilation of idiots stopping in front of trams

She the person is still accelerating to get around the train

the driver was looking for a space to turn, when it was clear, they accelerated, but failed to check the mirror for the tram, it's an honest mistake, though the tram driver should have yielded and not been an asshole about it

Tram driver has right of way. It's her own fault for not using her mirrors.

yes, i know tram driver had right of way, but just because of that, doesn't mean he can't stop, he purposely proceeded knowing there would be a collision. the vehicle may have been in the wrong, doesn't mean that the tram driver should continue. Seems if someone pulls out in front of you, in the wrong, you should not brake to prove your point?

It doesn't work that way. You can't just stop a few hundred tons of metal from moving, even if one idiot tried to do something they shouldn't have

and he never attempted to stop

It's like attempting to stop a fully loaded 18 wheeler. Why bother if it won't help? An 80kph crash kills just as well as a 100kph one.

What fell_equinox is saying is AFTER getting hit, the driver of the car decided to gas it and pull around the front of the train. Watch close, the fool in the car doesn't stop.

@zippytheroach that's exactly what I meant

never disputed that, just saying that the driver could have made an attempt to slow down or brake, rather than just casually looking around and pretending there's no vehicle there

Well...I mean...there's no point. It's a small train.

It's emergency math. Bumping into the car and possibly injuring the driver or emergency braking the tram and for sure injuring a couple of passengers, as they'll fall.

And the driver is not casually looking around. Due to the crash he needs to stop his tram in the centre of an intersection, so he checks the traffic coming from the left.

first tram, moving just as fast, stopped, this particular one is at around 1.10 in, plenty of warning of turning vehicles, does not slow down knowing that they might. yes, they don't stop immediately, but this was completely foreseeable https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uLpgrcLOZM
