He didnt "forget" about it. He just pretended that he forgot so that they wouldn't seize his funds after bankruptcy. This was back when he lost his court case and settled. Back then no body knew what bitcoin was gonna be worth, so i dont think they cared when he didnt list them. Smart move by him.
