Alright y'all listen up. Jordan Peterson explains in this interview his take and opinions on men growing up these days, pay gap myth, etc. Cathy Newman says over and over, "so what your saying is..." and goes on to imply something completely different. Peterson has to correct her a lot and tell her over and over to just look at the facts. These issues are multi-variable situations that constantly get engorged by only viewing one variable. Don't force your agenda over the facts like Cathy. Just be reasonable.
I think other than the bit where he said "ha gotcha" he was so calm and really mastered that debate.
Watch a couple of breakdowns online, and the skills he's using are amazing
Although she didn't handle it in the best way I can't cheer for him, he gives me the creeps and I get the impression he has some deep rooted only thinly veiled misogynistic views.
Impressions are open to the interpreter, they're subjective. You're allowed to have your opinion with how you interpreted it but don't hold it as a fact when the only evidence is how you specifically perceived him.
That's fine that you personally think he's creepy, but where is the evidence that he holds any sort of misogynistic views? I have listened to quite a few of his interviews and speaking events and have never heard anything even suggesting at misogyny
He sneers at Cathy Newman in a way I'm all too familiar with but perhaps that's his issue with her personally. He also thinks there shouldn't be such a focus on rectifying the fact that women particularly (amongst other groups) have historically been oppressed.
Can I have an example in western culture where men as a group have been oppressed please?
Also, I acknowledged that other groups have been oppressed but he doesn't appear to recognise the importance of these groups being disadvantaged in different ways and only wants to focus on proletariat Vs bourgeoisie. But perhaps I'm reading it wrong?
