No. The $ sign is for US an Canadian dollars. (Maybe a few others too.)
Not to mention the US $ and CAN $ imprinted on the cover, publishers won't imprint that for overseas sales.
One of my text books was $600 for a loose leaf binder version. However I was able to get the hardcover book for $29 by getting the global version online
They usually try to say something along the lines of "oh it's perfectly fair price considering how much we have to spend to run the place and how much we spend on you students and blah blah blah blah". The truth they know you have to have it so they can charge whatever they want for it.
You want to be paid more for that right?
