He may have wanted to say that the fact that people of colour use the term frequently as a form of adress could be considered cultural aproppriation...
I personally never understood this concept, if it is sick a bad thing to say and people of color take a major offense why do they say it to each other, they sing it, they say it in everyday conversations about everything, they say it to anything? Is it truly the word itself that's bad or is it from the people who use it?
Same
I have never used to word
But finally absolutely ridiculous how black people and other races so oversensitive and offended when a non-black person says it (even when they are not using it as an insult)
Although it’s a bad word, if it comes from another person of colour it lessens the blow.
Like when women call each other bitches etc.

I find that as hypocrisy. If they truly feel negatively towards others for using that word then they shouldn't use it as well. That way no one is as seen as a racist. Less confusion.
I say it with my best friend... we came to an agreement like 15 years ago that I get to use it. I don't use it often, it has to be a well time joke. We both agreed that tip-toe'ing around a freaking word was a waste of energy.
1. Reclaiming of words by the people it's used against is normal.
2. It's not hypocrisy if the people who invented it as a negative all of a sudden want to use it to sound "hip."
3. Why is it tip-toeing? In what situation is saying the n-word ever so necessary that you have to tiptoe around saying it?

I think if the word wasn't as taboo as it is, people wouldn't be wanting to say it. I think its offensive due to it's historical context and should not be use by people out of the group it oppressed. Like nobody should call me spics, because I am puertorican.
I got your point they can become a little oversensitive but the US history with racism is long and painful. Although I don't think they actually make a big deal about it if is not used with malicious intent.
It's a sense of reclaiming a word that has caused so much damage. If you own it, it can no longer have the power it has. Unfortunately, by saying other people can't say it still gives the word negative power
