as great as this is, i don't see it being very durable

Who downvoted? This is a reasonable concern. Why would I want to have a port that is less durable? It has more moving parts and looks like it could be snapped off.

my point exactly, seems that a tug in the wrong direction, caught on something, will just break, must be the downvote fairy come to visit

It's becoming harder and harder to find a nice compact notebook with Gigabit LAN. I can't work with 100 shitty Mbits or wifi

Just make the lan port small already, I have no idea why it's still that big.
