It was the plastic smiles guys. I almost clocked the bastard grinning at me. He looked like he wanted to murder me, all empty grin und empty eyes. noooo, thank you
They left out the best part. From the same article:
"Or maybe they found this oddly aggressive, mindless and exuberant exercise in group-think too reminiscent of other rallies....like one that occurred in Nuremberg several decades earlier."
I worked at Wal-Mart during the holiday season in 2012. Never did any of that stuff Not like we had time. I worked in tech which was crazy busy during the holidays. Also, we were open 24/7, only closing briefly on Thanksgiving and Christmas...briefly. They closed for a few hours but people were still there, setting things up for Black Friday and for the inevitable Day after Christmas returns.
So the I googled it and read the first article from The Huffington Post. The three explained reasons that Walmart requires it's employees to do struck me as a bit ridiculous since none of them are followed in any Walmart that I have frequented. The cultural differences in shopping preferences I get but the others not so much.
