My engagement ring was found not bought. My husband was a paper delivery man (paper boy tee hee) and one day he was delivering papers and he looks down on the ground and there is a ring. He asked the houses near by but no one lost it. He kept the ring for the day when he will meet the girl he wanted to marry, a week later he met me and 3 months later he asked me to marry him. He says it was destiny.
I never wear it because I lose everything lol so I buy cheap rings from Walmart that is like 10 bucks and every time I lose one I just get a new one. But each time my husband picks them out for me. And he asks me to stay married to him. Lol sometimes I say no lol
My parents used a ring from a coin machine but later got a real set. But there is a reason to that lol.
Unless you are rich don't spend all your cash on a ring when all it is is a way to show off you are getting married.
Yeah 1 month online 2 in person living together. lol We been together for going on 13 years April 3rd. Our daughter will be 11 on the same day. Some how we had her on the anniversary of the day we met.
We have our ups and downs like any married couple but we love each other as if we knew each other our whole lives and it felt that way ever since the day we met.
I forgot to say we were married October 15th lol so even though we dated for only 3 months we we're engaged for 3 months so we were together for 6 months before we got married.
I don’t know about that. A sturdy derlin or polymer ring will likely outlast both parties lives. Most alloys will also last a long time with very minor care.
I told my fiancé back when we were looking at rings that since he insisted on getting a real diamond and such for the ring, if he spent more than 400 I'd never forgive him. (This price he negotiated out of me lol)
For anyone wanting a better deal, Amazon. It's where he got mine and also used my mom's prime account for free shipping. It was like 350 total, and really good for the quality it is. :)
I didn't want diamonds, so my husband got me an aquamarine and white sapphire ring set in sterling silver. Less than $100 from J.C. Penny and much more beautiful than most engagement rings I've seen.
Different colors (stone) are awesome! Mine is small diamo ds but not a typical style. I think people should spend money knowing it is for good quality. Not because it's "impressively" expensive
I'm young but I do have plans about getting married someday. And I think I'll make a ring for my wife and maybe she can make one for me. I once saw a sort of wire-type material wrapped around a band with a small uncut crystal on the top and I've always thought that was so gorgeous. One of my friend's engagement rings only cost a few hundred dollars and it's not a diamond, just two blue stones with a purple in the middle and it looks better than a diamond. I want to use that money on things that are actually important. Doesn't matter what your ring looks like, as long as both (or all) of you love it.
It depends on how much money you have: for some people it's not a waste as they can afford a nice ring, a big wedding, and to have a life together (including a house).
My wedding ring was $4k and it was paid off in a year, still have money and stuff. My husband insisted upon it and that is what we did. Oh well, to each his own.
It’s materialistic, okay, and maybe boring, but my wedding set makes me happy. I like to look at it, and other people also notice it sometimes. Being married makes me happy. Have a pretty ring set is nice. I guess it doesn’t matter, and I’m sure it wouldn’t shine to me if it wasn’t a good relationship, but I never take it off and I will wear it my whole life. What other thing will stay with me so long? Is okay to throw some cash. Is unique possession.
It was within our budget, but friends whose fiancé went a bit above what was strictly prudent say the same as me. It is a quiet but consistent reminder of the joy and goodness in my life. It is always there, even more than a cell phone. For me, it is not wasteful. Houses will come, cars will come; many things come to those who hustle. But a small token, worn next to the skin, yes, spend whatever seems reasonable for this momento.
